Hartinder Dhami, or H-Dhami as he’s more commonly known, is a Bhangra-focused Indian Punjabi singer located in the United Kingdom. A number of Bhangra classics, including “Mitran Di Jaan,” “Lute Gaai,” and “Har Gabroo,” have been composed by him. In 2008, he released a self-titled album titled “Sadke Java.”
H-Dhami had an early victory with his debut album Sadke Java, which featured three straight smash singles and was championed highest selling Bhangra album, for which he received accolades from MTV, the UK Asian Music Awards, and many more.

Early Life of H-Dhami
On June 1, 1982, he was born to a devout Sikh Punjabi family in London. H-Dhami’s musical prowess and love of dance have been with him since birth. Therefore, it was just a matter of time before he became well-known in the Urban Desi scene.
H-Dhami comes from a musical family. His father, Palvinder Dhami, was the iconic lead vocalist of the Bhangra band HEERA in the 1980s. H-Dhami began performing on stage with the band “HEERA” when he was just six years old, and since then, he’s taken his dance to front crowds of over 90,000.
Dhami’s bhangra dance was his first love, even though he has performed with his father since he was a toddler. He claims his father eventually had to physically coerce him into singing. Fortunately, he changed his mind and started performing at events, and it was during one of these shows he met the guy who would alter the course of his life forever, Rishi Rich (Producer).
H-Dhami Career
In 2007, H-Dhami signed a contract with Rishi Rich Productions (RRP), which was established by Rishi Rich and Waleed Jahangir, an entrepreneur working in the entertainment business.
Additionally, H-Dhami also entered into a distribution agreement with Sony BMG India. The year 2008 saw the publication of Dhami’s debut studio album, which was given the label Sadke Java. Roach Killa, Chaaya, and Mumzy Stranger collaborate on various tracks on the album Lieutenant. In the year 2010, H-Dhami was featured on the single “Gereh Kad Dee,” which was the second single released from the album “Crowd Pleaser” by PBN (Panjabi By Nature).
It was a collaboration between the two of them when he did the “Desi Remix” of Mumzy Stranger’s “One More Dance.” Additionally, he recorded “Tere Bina Nahi Nachna” with En Karma, who was the only Bhangra band based in North America at the time. In 2010, he was also responsible for reworking “Shimmy” by Preeya Kalidas and producing a Desi mix of Raghav’s “So Much.”
Achievements of H-Dhami
Amazon has ranked Dhami’s album as the most downloaded digital Bhangra album of all time. This album was created through a collaboration between H-Dhami and a number of A-list producers, including Rishi Rich.
H-Dhami has participated in various projects that have gone on to achieve chart-topping success, both domestically and internationally. Recording a variety of film scores, such as “Ni Aajaa Veh” (Speedy Singh’s) and “Toonpur Ka Super Hero,” helped him build a solid reputation within the business (Title track).
