The project represents a new phase in Ali Zafar's musical journey, combining contemporary production with themes of self-reflection, love, resilience and Pakistani musical heritage. Before the album's release, “Zalim Nazron Se” was released with veteran singer Ali Haider, while “Ruxaana” became one of the key releases accompanying the album launch.
The album was particularly significant because it came more than a decade after his previous major studio album, making Roshni an important musical comeback.

Ali Zafar has remained musically active following the release of Roshni. His latest releases listed on Apple Music include the 2026 single “Sohna Nabi (PBUH)”, released on 5 March 2026. His current catalogue also includes recent releases such as “Noor-e-Khuda Muhammad (PBUH),” “Zalim Nazron Se” and the 2025 PSL anthem “X Dekho.”
Another notable development has been the creative response to Roshni. In January 2026, Ali Zafar appeared on Hasna Mana Hai and encouraged fans to create videos inspired by songs from the album. Hundreds of fan videos reportedly followed, including projects using AI-generated visuals and experimental storytelling. In April 2026, 15 videos were shortlisted and published by Lightingale Records.
