As we are well aware of Shafqat Amanat Ali who is well known singer and musician of Pakistan. The singer gave us great music and songs like pop-rock Ankhon Kay Sagar and Ankhiyan and then classic tunes like Khamaj. Latest, his son Sadaat Shafqat Amanat has come into the same line with a song Tu and we can’t stop listening to it repeatedly. The singer, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his grandfather Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, belongs to the purist Patiala gharana of classical singing.
Sadaat is introduced by a musical platform Bossmenn which has come up with a show Room Files. Sadaat, who has been formally trained in classical music, has furthered his father’s efforts to merge with the modern times. His debut song Tu has an 80’s nostalgic feel to it. It’s a foot-tapping pop song and will make you dance when Sadaat sings Tu.
Music instruments like drums and keyboard notes in the background remind us of Stranger Things theme which is an honor in itself. It is quite dangerous for an artist of Sadaat’s lineage to attempt a pop track as his debut song.
Saadat expressed his thoughts as “I don’t need to add those alaps or murkis if the song doesn’t demand it. It’s not that I can’t”. Amazing thing added that Saadi had composed and written the lyrics for Tu when he was fourteen and thought it as a track that had a refreshing kind of a feel in it. He then, sang this song in front of his father, who after a long pause, smiled and asked him, ‘So when are you releasing this?’ That’s how Saadi got the permission of making debut.
Saadat learnt and got trained in classical singing. He got his training from his grand-uncle Ustad Hamid Ali Khan who is the youngest and the only surviving brother of Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. Whilehis father Shafqat was always available for guidance. Having said that, the prince of Patiala believes he has learnt equally from the works of his grandfather Ustad Amanat Ali Khan and his pop icon Michael Jackson. ACDC is also his all-time favorite band.
