Pakistan’s famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali and renowned producer Salman Ahmed have declared that they would establish a welfare trust for needy, senior and deserving artists.
He shared the information as the Trust will provide financial help to the deserving and talented artists who don’t have resources and work to make their living, that too without any publicity and by approaching and providing them funds in their home. They would also aid the artists who did not have any job and suffering from hardships.
As we are well aware of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who is a Pakistani musician, basically of Qawwali, a devotional music of the Sufis. He also has made his way in Bollywood and Hollywood. He is the nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan and also the grandson of Qawwali singer Fateh Ali Khan. Qawwali is his basic form of music but he also sings playback songs like ‘O re piya‘, movie songs, ghazals and other kinds of music.
He also appears as a guest and performs in the Lok Virsa (Heritage) show that is broadcast on Pakistan television and is loved by the people all over the world.
He also expressed that popular celebrities will be included in the whole concept. The project will run on self-help basis and not being sponsored by other entities.
A local television published the news that different renowned artists like singers, producers, actors and other personalities from the showbiz and entertainment industry will also be included in this campaign. Quoted as, “It will be a self-help basis trust and we will not seek donations from anyone to help the deserving artists”.
Another important news circulating that Punjab government also has announced a project for the social and financial welfare of the national artists. But it has not been executed yet.
