Leading dhol player of Pakistan Pappu Sain (Original Name Zulfiqar Ali, Died on 7th November 2021) died in Lahore Pakistan after a critical condition due to Liver Cancer. He was on ventilator since a long period of time.
Fankar Online has talked to Horeya Asmat, Female leading Dhol Player of Pakistan. She spent last days in hospital with Pappu Sain.
On the Death Bed, He hold my hand and said, Pehle Meri Ek hi Beti Thi, Ab Meri do betyan hain… Men tum se Bohat Khush Hun. ( I have one daughter, But now you are my daughter too, and I am happy for your Achievement in Learning Dhol ), said to Horeya Asmat.

Horeya shared a lot of her memories with Pappu Sain when she was visiting him at hospital.
she said he was happy to see my hard work and passion, Before that he said a female can not be a dhol player. its very hard job for a female. But few days ago he said few words to me which are a big award for me. He said
“Tu suchal malang Hai tunay apni adar ko Mar k mardana Roop apnaya or phir Mola ki noubat galay main Dali. Main tuj say both khush Hon. Ja Mola nay tujhay parwaz bakhshi”
I have spent last two months with him and his family, Once there was a Thursday and I took off for 4 hours from hospital by telling a lie, saying that we need to go to bank for financial matters to be done. And I took him to Shah Jamal sarkar. That was the day he was in his full bloom.
Government of Pakistan has awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz to Pappu Sain for his dedicated work, cultural promotion and showing soft Image of Pakistan to whole world.
