Ahad Ali Khan belongs to Faisalabad, Punjab Pakistan. He was born in 1990, and the eldest son of Haji Iqbal Meeran, a well-known singer from a famous GUNCHA Pakistani musical family.
He traces his musical ancestry back more than 200 years. His great- grandfather, Ustad Fateh Muhammad, Ustad Muhammad Hussain was one of the most famous qawwali singers of the Indian subcontinent and founded his qawwali (Sufi music) group more than 60 years ago. After partition, his grandfather moved with the family to Pakistan in 1947 and settled in Faisalabad. Here the group, known at this time as GUNCHA BROTHERS, became extremely popular both for its wide repertoire of classical, spiritual (Sufi), and popular songs as well as their superb command of the Urdu, Persian, and Punjabi languages. The group was one of the first to record qawwali music, and was regularly heard on All Pakistan Radio.
Ahad Ali Khan is student of Ustad Rizwan & Muazzam Ali Khan Qawwal. Who are popular in Pakistani qawwali singers because of there own style & the nephews of Late Usrad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Ahad Ali Khan started his journey with own group 14 Years ago, When he was 13 Year old.
